Our Story

Every quilt tells a story. Ours begins with a young girl, a Home Economics class, and a B+ that sparked a lifelong passion.

I signed up for that class because I wanted to sew like my mother — a woman who made most of my school clothes by hand. When I finished my first garment and received that grade, I was disappointed. I had worked so hard, and I wanted to impress her. But looking back, that B+ was the beginning of everything.

Over the years, I worked my way from garments to quilts. Quilting became my hobby, my joy, and my way of connecting with the people I love most. My grandmother quilted too — though for her, it was less of a hobby and more of a necessity. She made quilts and sold them to provide for her family. Her hands stitched together more than fabric; they stitched together a legacy.

When my grandchildren came along, I knew I wanted to carry that tradition forward. Quilting had been passed down through generations of our family, and I wasn't about to let it stop with me.

So I made a decision. I sold my car — a car I truly loved — and used that money to start QualityQuilts Plus+. It wasn't just an investment in a business. It was an investment in a family tradition, a craft, and a community of makers who believe that handmade things carry something no store-bought item ever can.
